There’s Life Outside The Project

There’s life outside of the project.

This is how I’ve been combating my stress recently. I just remind myself that there is life outside of the project.

One of the downsides of pursuing intense focus is that your whole world can begin to seem like it’s just one thing, all revolving around the project.

It’s important to remember hobbies, and family, and food. It’s important to exercise, and watch movies, and go to dance recitals and sports games. It’s important to do cosmically inconsequential things like that.

There are people who love you who really don’t care about how well your project goes. The people who you’ve explained what you do to a dozen times, and they just nod with a puzzled look. And in a strange way, that can be a beautiful thing.

There’s life outside the project.
