The Most Dangerous Thing you Can Tell Yourself

The most dangerous thing you can tell yourself goes something like this.

If I can’t do this right, I might as well not do it all.

Bullshit.

This is the resistance talking. It’s the little voice that keeps you from chasing your ambition. It keeps you from following your dreams, from trying new things, from working on something bigger than yourself.

This little voice reverberates in a hundred sinister ways.

I’ll work on this next week, when I have more time.

Everyone’s going to know I’m a fraud.

I just need to do a little more research, then I’ll get started.

None of this is true.

In fact, here’s what is true:

Fit people got fit by making a habit out of exercise. Not by doing a perfect workout with the best clothes every time. Successful creators grew their audiences by publishing content anyway. Not by waiting until they had all the right gear.

If you can’t do it completely right, that’s ok. You gotta do it anyway. The ones who ended up doing what you’re always dreaming about absolutely sucked at it for a while. But somewhere along the way, they made a lifestyle out of that practice, and then became that person.
