Something is better than nothing

Something is better than nothing

Something is better than nothing.

In anything you want to do or be or learn, something is better than nothing.

Of course, when we want to try something new, vicious voices rattle around in our heads. If you can’t give it 110%, get off the court! Oh so you’re a fan now–name five of their songs!

These voices are hard to shake. We feel like an imposter before we even begin. So we don’t begin.

But it’s important to remember that something is better than nothing for two reasons. First, even if we only achieve 1% of our intended goal, we still receive 1% of the benefits. Not anything to brag about, but something is still something. Second, and most importantly, every tiny action we take builds a habit. One brick at a time, a habit becomes a love, and that’s when real change happens.

The vicious voices that keep you away were crafted by frightened people who wanted to keep you away. They’re not legitimate. Every big thing starts with something small. And something is better than nothing.
