Creative Copywriting is More Essential Now Than Any Time In History

 
 

Everything is so much cheaper these days. Including our advertising. It used to cost thousands to run a TV ad, put up a billboard, or print a magazine spread. Now you can run an ad on Instagram for five dollars. 

In a million ways, this is a good thing. The bar is being lowered for new creators and businesses to get in the game. There are more ways to bootstrap a business now, and fewer obstacles for people to really change their future. 

But in one way, it’s a bad thing.

People publish work with weak copywriting more than ever before. They’re phoning it in. Since there’s less friction in the publishing price, people assume the entire process is easy. It’s not. Weak copywriting gets sales like a sleeping bear gets a salmon. When mom brings it to them. You gotta get wet, baby!

Since there’s more advertising now than ever before, there are fewer ways to stand out. Consumers don’t care that you ran an ad. They click “skip ad” faster than you can proposition your value. That’s not enough anymore. You need to be creative.

Not only does creative advertising still win the day. It’s becoming more essential than ever before.
