The Easiest Thing To Do Is Nothing (Part 1)

The easiest thing to do is nothing.

This is how subscription services have become some of the most profitable companies in the world. They’re willing to bet that a majority of their users won’t use their service enough to make it unprofitable for them. This is how Hulu has made $90 off of me since I got a free trial last July. I opted for the easiest thing.

When we want to change our lives, we need to remember that the easiest thing to do is nothing. Shifting our business models, or starting to work out, changing careers–all of these are tough! It takes conscious effort until things start to stick. Until then, the easier path will always be telling us what we want to hear. Which is to change nothing. To do what we’ve always done.

Think about this for your life. How are you choosing the easiest path instead of the path you want to follow? Where do you need to invest more conscious effort to change? Good luck out there.
