The risk of trust is worth the reward

The risk of trust is worth the reward.

Most people aren’t out to get you. Most people don’t want to swindle you, take advantage of you, or con you.

Some people do. That’s true. But most people don’t.

I know a few freelancers who are always wary of brands. They don’t give clients the benefit of the doubt. They’ve gotten the short end of the stick before, and so they can smell a bad client a mile away. Even when the client isn’t bad.

I get it. I’ve had some bad clients before too. Ones who didn’t pay, or ghosted me, or treated me like garbage. But for the most part, I’ve had great clients. And the risk of trust is worth the reward. because my great clients? We trust each other. We give each other the benefit of the doubt. And it’s awesome.

Is the risk of breaking your arm worth never riding a bike? Is the risk of losing worth never playing the game at all?

In life, overwhelmingly, the risk is worth the reward.
