How Templates Can Give You More Confidence

It’s easy to get discouraged when you don’t win a pitch. You spend all this time developing an offering, packaging it in a pitch deck, preparing for the call. And then you don’t win. What a bummer!

But what if you didn’t have to spend that much time doing all of that? I’m talking about automation, baby.

Experienced freelancers factor in the time it takes to win a pitch into their rates. If they didn’t, freelancing wouldn’t be very profitable. Experienced freelancers also understand that it takes a lot of missed pitches before they get a hit. With both of these things in mind, this means that experienced freelancers automate their pitch process as much as they can in order to increase the amount of pitches they make, and decrease the amount of time it takes.

The best way to do this is with pitch deck templates. If you can spend a few hours on a slow day to put all the information that clients could want about your offerings, then you don’t have to take time to do it when they ask later. You just swap out a few names, add a slide or two if needed, and let it rip.

Templates also help freelancers be less emotional. Pitching takes confidence, and when a client approaches you on a bummer day, a lack of confidence in the moment shouldn’t rob you of future opportunities. With a pitch template, your past confidence will speak for your current lack.
