Introduction to Zero to One

The difference between zero and one is greater than the difference between one and one hundred.

That’s because of inertia.

Inertia is the stationary feeling when you get when you don’t know where to start. When you don’t know what you don’t know.

Starting can be so difficult because the things we don’t understand are big, scary “ideas.” The most common things you hear about why people don’t start freelancing is because they don’t understand freelance taxes, healthcare, or 401k. All of these things can of course be taken care of with a quantifiable dollar amount, but people are frozen by the unknownness of it all.

I’m starting a new series tomorrow called Zero to One. As a generalist, I’ve learned a little about a lot, and I want to give you the tools and knowledge you need to start. I want to break down the first set of scary “ideas” into the quantifiable pieces of knowledge so you can get started.

Some topics we’ll cover are copywriting, video editing, typography, web design, and facebook ads.

Wish me luck!
